Search Process

The search process is expected to take about 2 months. The target to have the positions filled is within the month of July

A committee consisting of individuals from PSU and from the Hub Oversight Board is responsible for selecting and making offers to two candidates for this position. They are not available for direct discussion about the position at this time. Names of people on the search committee will be shared with applicants 24 hours in advance of their first interview.

All applications will be screened by the search chair for minimum qualifications. If there is uncertainty around whether or not an applicant meets minimum requirements, then an additional set of three search committee members will read those applications and provide a judgment. The committee will then rank candidates by preferred qualifications. Weight will be given to depth of experience as well. For example, an applicant having no experience in one preferred qualification but a lot of experience in another may score the same as an applicant with some experience in both.

For the screening of minimum and ranking of preferred qualifications, in an effort to reduce bias, resumes and other application information will be redacted using Redactable. One member of the search committee will be responsible for downloading information from the job posting portal, redacting it, and then sending the redacted contents to the committee. We are redacting names, referents to age, gender, and schools attended.

Depending on the overall pool of applicants, up to 20 will be selected for a first round of 30-minute interviews with the search committee via Zoom. The questions for this round will be send to applicants 24 hours in advance.

Depending on the overall pool of applicants, up to 6 applicants will proceed to a second round of interviews. These second-round interviews will be 2.5 hours and consist of 60 minutes with the committee, a 30-minute organization exercise, a 30-minute interview with an entrepreneur, 30 minutes with the search chair and, if previously hired and available, the Hub director. The committee questions for this round will be send to applicants 24 hours in advance. The simulated interview may be recorded and available for a short window to members of the Hub’s Oversight Board.

The committee will make offers to two candidates at a time until two positions are filled.
