A consortium of 30+ partners secured $750K in state funding from Business Oregon following a successful $140K planning grant. Funding will support the launch of a Regional Innovation Hub for Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties (”the Hub”). The Hub will interact with and be driven by the community as its own entity, but will be hosted at Portland State University (PSU). The positions are therefore located within PSU.
The collective vision of the Metro Regional Innovation Hub (”the Hub”) is to provide entrepreneurs from all sectors, backgrounds, and business stages with accessible paths to all existing regional resources in networking, coaching, education, and capital access in order to foster and grow innovation-based businesses.
The Hub will provide this accessibility through one-to-one guided navigation of existing regional resources – including partnering with other navigation programs - and through Hub programs that dynamically fill gaps in existing regional resources.
Additionally, the Hub will spur connectivity and further “gap-filling” by other resource providers in the region through coordination of existing regional resources, thereby catalyzing regional entrepreneurial efforts in high growth, scalable, traded sector start-ups and fostering a more thriving and inclusive community.
